About the Author

Picture
Who is Isaiah Tremaine?  As a child, he was something of a Walter Mitty.  He wanted to be a doctor, aeronautical engineer, orchestra conductor and military general.  In time, he found the titles of teacher and writer suited him best.  Besides preferring the glow of celebrity aimed at others; Mr. Tremaine paints himself as one who has always been fascinated with people.  What causes two people, who have  grown up in the same environment, treated equally well by parents to find different paths—one becoming a success, the other a murderer?   Mr. Tremaine has witnessed such things and many other equally dramatic and tragic events that has helped to shape and fill the content of his terrific books.
Mr. Tremaine considers himself fortunate to have a good team of people assisting
him in creation of his books.  Below are a few of them.

JOE POTTACKAL is Isaiah's latest and primary editor. Early in their collaboration, Mr. Tremaine recalls being  amazed how Joe could remember a name, a place or incident on one page of a manuscript and correctly synced it to a name, place or incident a hundred pages earlier.  Mr. Tremaine describes Joe as a friendly human computer.  A graduate of Rutgers University, Joe is currently a graduate student at Yale University.   Mr. Tremaine testifies that, "When you have an editor who sings, plays the guitar, is athletically inclined, and soon to have a Ph.D in neuroscience, you have a treasurer!"

Besides being a professional photographer, JACK TURKEL is also a gifted graphic designer.   He has photographed everything from NASA rockets to cook books.  That expertise in capturing images has enhanced his ability to create effective and imaginative designs for corporate presentations, web designs and Mr. Tremaine's many books.
"When I see the finished cover that Jack created for one of my stories, I feel like a father witnessing the birth of a child," Mr. Tremaine happily admits.

Steven Cromer plays the guitar, is artistically inclined and once considered himself a "tagger."   Mr. Tremaine loves Steve's raw, simple drawings.   He claims that Steven captures the feel of his stories and characters better than most.

Christian Bonilla is a student artist with great promise. Mr. Tremaine has chosen him for additional artwork because, according to Mr. Tremaine, "Christian has a unique eye for the abstract. When I need a though or situation interpreted visually and artistically, Chris does a terrific job of translation."

Reading, I love it!

As a child, I would walk to the old Carnegie library on Eight Street and Park Avenue in my hometown of Plainfield, NJ to read books on a Saturday morning.  The library was built like a large wooden house. To this day, when I hear steam and feel the warmth from an old radiator, I am taken back to those charming mornings with great books at the Plainfield library.  By the time I was in fifth grade at Barlow School, my teacher, a Miss June Cunningham, discovered that I could also write stories.  She encouraged me to continue.  Well, here I am decades later—and I write stories.  Although I use  all the wonderful technical devices of our day to communicate, I have to admit that I write stories as if the reader was in a cozy corner of that old library locked away with the words of a book creating images and voices in their minds.  In many ways it doesn't matter if your source is a "Kindle" or a device the actually reads to you, it's how the story captures you that counts.
